Fethiye
Fethiye has a population of over 68,000 Modern day Fethiye is located on the ancient city of Telmessos, ruins of which can be seen in the city, e.g. Hellenistic theatre by the main quay. This city is extremely busy in the summer, being a popular attraction amongst tourists, if you enjoy the hustle and bustle of thousands of people this is the place to be. You can find tourist markets, fruit and vet markets, fish markets. As for restaurants you can find everything from cosy little traditional Locantars to classy more trendy bars as well as restaurants such as Chinese and Indian and Brit style. The fish market has a particular charm to it, is surrounded by little restaurants, you can go on the market, chose whichever fish you wish then take it to the restaurant and they will cook it for you at a reasonable price.
The blue lagoon is here and is a national nature reserve and building is strictly prohibited. Ölüdeniz is famous for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine, and is an official blue flag beach, and is frequently rated among the top 5 beaches the world
Olu Deniz:Olu Deniz (which means ‘Dead Sea’), is a beautiful lagoon edged with soft sandy beaches that is a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike, backed by pine covered hills where you will find the village resorts of Hisaranu and Ovacik. Olu Deniz is one of the most photographed resorts in Turkey and over the years has probably featured on more holiday brochure covers than anywhere else in the world. Wisely, when Turkish tourism was in its infancy the local authorities realised how precious this place was and made it a conservation area, forever protecting the stunning shoreline and village from overdevelopment.The village resort is snuggled behind a curved strip of beach that forms an almost complete circle around a natural blue lagoon.
